Pollen & Girl Test
When working out the engineering for the recent Pollen & Girl limited edition, I had to fine-tune the attachments between the girl, pony and jump to give the illusion of them being in motion. This is a tricky thing to perfect!
I missed the mark on this one by a fraction of a millimetre (the first print is always a bit of guess-work) so the girl and pony weren't attached securely enough to the jump pole, and separated from it. With the pole not holding the ensemble together securely, the poor girls little fingers were then subject to enough force to break them from the pony. I did try gluing everything back together with superglue but it was a rather half-hearted attempt as this wasn't a model for the edition, so it's hardly surprising my rushed work didn't fix it!
This model will require a steady hand and perhaps a tiny wire rod or two to reassemble it, or you could use the jump for another project and create a more inventive obstacle for them to be leaping over that might help hold everything together solidly. The lead rope still links the girl to the pony (the lead ropes are wonderfully strong/flexible), it could be cut and reattached easily enough to make things simpler when working on them.
Otherwise this is a good model albeit raw so it will need its clean-up, which, if you have a rotary tool (eg Dremel , nail tool etc) isn't a horrible job on these models, which is amazing given their complexity.
So if you want a fun challenge for the Summer, this is a great choice. I'll pack each element very carefully to ensure they arrive in their current state. They will be supplied with a collectible sticker, but not the magnet the edition models had (sorry, I only ordered enough for the edition of 12!).
