Little One - China Edition by Joan Berkwitz

Little One was my first venture away from medallions and it's success gave me a huge confidence boost.
So, when Joan Berkwitz of Pour Horse Potteries in San Diego approached me and asked if she could buy the rights to cast Little One in Earthenware china and produce a Limited Edition ceramic version of the model, I couldn't accept fast enough!
Joan is a world-renowned ceramacist who produces custom glazed and small OF editions of horses sculpted by the likes of Sarah Minkiewics-Breunig and Sarah Rose. Her work is hugely collectable and I am extremely honoured that she has chosen to cast my sculpture. More of Joanie's creations can be found on the Model Horse Gallery Here.
A resin Little One flew over the pond for Joan to customise ready for ceramic casting. She made some subtle amendments to ensure they all survived the casting process. Joan then made the plaster moulds and cast out 25 Earthenware copies. She custom glazed 20 and 5 copies were bisque for other artists to glaze. These photos were kindly sent to me from Joanie.
The edition sold out in a couple of weeks.
