I was very pleased to be asked to produce the Mini Medallion and Medallion prizes to be awarded at the British Model Equine Championship show for 2011. I produced the Awards for the 2010 Championship so it is a great compliment to have been asked again.
The mini medallion was designed to represent Scotland, as I want to represent each of the four countries of Great Britain on the awards for this British show. The design included a Clydesdale horse and two thistles which crossed at the bottom to represent the Scottish flag.
The mini medallions were cast in "wine gum" style resin and proved a big hit. The large medallions were cast in silver, bronze and gold filled resin and were later also sprayer gold, silver and bronze to show the model to full effect.
The larger medallion was planned to be unchanged from last year, however I had wanted to add tack to it since then so went about that, adding a show set and a rosette on the bridle.
